President and Founder

Dan Sterling is the President and Founder of Sterling Medical Devices, heading the organization since its inception and accelerating its growth to over 100 employees. Mr. Sterling’s leadership is guided by his diligence, dedication, and commitment to do whatever it takes to deliver solutions for Sterling Medical Devices’ clients. His career includes developing safety critical systems and managing software development processes spanning the medical device, aerospace, and telecommunication industries for distinguished companies such as McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing), Motorola, Honeywell, Rockwell Collins, and Guidant (now Boston Scientific). Mr. Sterling leads the company with a drive to ensure quality management is infused into every aspect of Sterling’s operations. Mr. Sterling earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University. His experience with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, and ISO 9001 ensures best practices are accurately implemented in Sterling’s projects. Under his leadership, the company encompasses a culture of teamwork, mutual respect, and relationship building. Mr. Sterling has a passion to ensure all of the work at Sterling Medical Devices is enhancing and saving lives. He continues to cultivate and expand an exceptional team who are constantly and consistently pushing the definition of excellence.
